Proverbs 6:4 Give no sleep to your eyes, nor slumber to your eyelids.
The twins have been taking this verse VERY seriously.
Does anyone know how to get a child (or two) to sleep past 5:30 in the morning?!? As you well know, I am NOT a morning person; neither am I a night owl. The twins have decided they are morning people and are up by 6:00 most mornings. I am at my wits end trying to get them to sleep later. A good morning, they'll sleep until 7:00. I have to get up and take them out to the back porch to play, because, if I leave them in their beds, they sing and talk loud enough to wake Kyzer. Then they're grumpy and ready for morning nap right when we're flying around trying to get out the door for school. I'm finding it extremely difficult. Any suggestions are welcome. Douglas suggested Benadryl....

oh dear, I hear you!! Sam always wakes up when dad goes to work ... which is way to early for me too!
Do they take a bottle?? When he wakes up in the am, I just go in his room, give him a bottle & close the door again and he ends up going back to sleep for another hour or so. or at least he's quiet! (ps...I know this is bad according to the books - you should never leave them with a bottle. sleep is precious though and you learn which rules can bend!)
good luck. :)
What time do they go to bed? I know most babies can't keep their eyes open very late, but the only thing that worked for me was keeping them up a little later. Even 30 minutes to 1 hour might make all the difference - depending IF they can stay awake AND if they sleep that much longer in the morning.
Otherwise, I am flat out of ideas. Good luck! I'm quite sure I would be totally grey and wrinkled if it was me!
TM- That's exactly what happens: they hear Daddy come home from work, and he's not really that loud. Of course, they're excited to see each other, so it's just all downhill from there. They are on the bottle, but they're so nosy that they won't be still and enjoy it. I'd let them stay in their cribs and do their thing, but they wake Kyzer, since they share a room. (We need a bigger house desperately!) I try to shut their door before Daddy comes in, but i dont always make it. And having two means the "no bottle in bed" rule gets broken all the time!!
DH- I've tried putting them to bed later, but they still get up at the same time. I've decided it's better to have a little me time when I can instead of making everyone miserable. I am totally grey, and the wrinkles are coming!! At least they are in fantastic moods and since I'm their favorite toy, we have some good one-on-two time.
Thanks for the ideas, ladies! I really appreciate being able to pick your brains!
